The Kabuki: The essential brush for applying loose mineral foundation.

Our Kabuki brush is a must-have in every makeup bag, especially if you love a natural, even complexion. At Cent Pur Cent, we specifically recommend the Kabuki makeup brush for applying our Loose Mineral Foundation.

From Japan
The Kabuki is a short, densely-bristled brush that originated in Japan. Traditionally used in Japanese theatrical makeup, it has now become a popular tool in the world of cosmetics due to its versatility and effectiveness.

What is a Kabuki brush for?

  • 1. Application of Loose Mineral Foundation:

The Kabuki makeup brush is ideal for applying loose powder products, such as mineral foundation. Its dense bristles ensure even distribution of the powder across the face, resulting in natural, flawless coverage. The brush picks up just the right amount of product and blends it effortlessly into the skin.

It's important to pick up the powder by swirling it into the bristles, then swirl it onto the skin. To apply, tap a small amount of powder into the jar lid, pick it up with your Kabuki brush while twisting, and spread it evenly over the face. Next, make swirling motions and press lightly to lock the powder in and blend it into the skin.

For a creamier effect, slightly moisten your Kabuki with Le Fixeur or Belle Brûme before applying.

  • 2. Blending your makeup:

In addition to foundation, the Kabuki brush can also be used to apply and blend other powder products like bronzer and blush. Its dense bristles help soften harsh lines and blend makeup seamlessly. Just be sure to use a separate Kabuki brush for darker colors to avoid making your face look too dark.

    3. Achieving a flawless finish:

The Kabuki makeup brush is designed to create a flawless finish. Its compact bristles allow the brush to reach all the nooks and crannies of your face, ensuring an even and smooth application. The swirling motion warms up the powder, allowing the skin to absorb it, resulting in a beautiful, natural glow.

    4. Sustainable and versatile:

Kabuki makeup brushes are often made of synthetic fibers, making them sustainable and long-lasting. Interestingly, the older and 'uglier' your Kabuki brush gets, the better it becomes. The bristles are gentle on the skin and easy to clean. To clean your brush, use a little of our Brush Soap. Wet the brush, swirl it in the soap, and then in your palm until it runs clear with little to no color. Allow it to air dry.

5. Different sizes

Our range offers different models of Kabuki brushes to suit your needs. The regular Kabuki makeup brush is perfect for larger jars of Loose Mineral Foundation. In contrast, the mini Kabuki is more convenient for smaller jars and travel.

We also offer a Retractable Kabuki with a cap, making it easy to take with you anywhere. You can fill the brush with powder in the morning, cap it, and place it in your handbag for easy touch-ups throughout the day.
